2012. A look back on our first few months of opening.

The day we sold out. The overwhelming support was incredible. We never in a million years anticipated that was going to happen. We definitely worked our butts off that night to restock.

That time we got our friends to work for sandwiches and getting a sticker from Urbanspoon for being one of the top restaurants on their app.

The day DD Mau was on the front cover of The Metro. I remember making the comment to my brother that morning “how crazy would it be if we made it on the news?”. I grabbed the paper from our entrance and was speechless. Shout out to the lovely ❤️.

It was an unforgettable start. Thank you all. 🥰

It is with a heavy heart that we announce July 17th will be our final day of lunch service in Yaletown.

10 years ago, our idea for a food truck fortuitously spawned into a bánh mì shop in Yaletown. We found a way to put awesome into a baguette and it has led us on an amazing journey.

Yaletown, thank you for helping us create what DD Mau is today. To all the office workers, neighbours, and local community, we are blessed to call you friends and it has been an honour serving you banh mi all these years. We will miss you, along with all your modifications.

To our staff, old and new…we love you all. We are so proud of everything you created here with us and we owe you a great debt of gratitude for all your hard work. You will always have a place in the DD Mau family and in our hearts.

They say when one door closes, another opens. As we reach the end of this road in Yaletown, we will continue our journey at the Chinatown location. We hope that you continue to support us and we look forward to serving you banh mi’s once again.

We accept the challenge. Introducing the Chả Hà Nội Meatball Bánh Mì.

Bún chả hà nội is a dish famously known for being eaten by Obama and Anthony Bourdain. It’s a street food dish with grilled meatballs and pork in a fish sauce broth with fresh herbs and vermicelli.

We offer the full dish but what better way to share the dish with you all than to reinvent it in a banh mi!
