🍟 Great news! 🐟

We had a surprise inspection from our EHO officer right in the middle of this heatwave 🥵 — and we’re delighted to say we got a 5/5 hygiene rating ✅

Even with our kitchen running 10°C hotter than outside, we keep everything safe, clean and up to standard.

With the temperatures forecasted, we wanted to let you know we are adjusting our opening hours for Wednesday and Thursday this week.

The shop naturally runs around 10°C hotter than the outside temperature as it’s like a greenhouse with all them windows — so when it hits 34–36°C outside, it becomes extremely uncomfortable and unsafe to work through the peak heat of the day.

We don’t like closing our doors, but to look after our team’s wellbeing and make sure we can keep serving you fresh, great‑quality food safely, we will be open:

⏰ 4:00pm – 8:00pm
Wednesday & Thursday only!

We’ll be back to our usual opening hours from Friday as normal.

At Castle Chippy, we only serve genuine cod and haddock. We’re proud to use only the highest quality products and stand for total honesty.

We’ve seen reports of other businesses selling different fish and passing them off as cod and haddock – something we never do.

We also face ongoing supply shortages and price rises, adding hundreds of pounds to our orders every week. Despite this, we still work hard to keep costs as low as possible for our customers.
