It's been a whole year since our four Forest Rooms arrived at The Rhynd and we've loved welcoming so many guests to unwind in the countryside. Here's what a few of them had to say about their stay!

The journey of the Rhynd Forest Rooms 🌲

The idea was simple: create a luxury room in the forest that was beautifully designed, comfortable, private and actually had somewhere to put your luggage.

Turning that idea into reality was slightly less simple.

After planning, design and a journey from Lithuania, getting the first four Forest Rooms into the field in October 2025 involved a 24-tonne telehandler, bog mats, a broken digger, a Hilux in a ditch and a few fairly tense moments.

Built by Konga in Lithuania and designed by architect Mette Fredskild, every detail was considered for its setting, from the sustainable timber to the carefully positioned windows and the 60+ metres between each room.

Now, one year on, the Forest Rooms have become an established part of The Rhynd, welcoming guests from near and far and offering a place to slow down, switch off and enjoy the forest.

It’s been quite a journey from the original idea to seeing the rooms become part of The Rhynd and we’re looking forward to seeing what the next year brings.

We have some exciting news for dog owners! 🐾

The Curlew Forest Room at The Rhynd is now dog friendly, so you can bring your four-legged friend along with you for a countryside escape.

With Tentsmuir Forest and the beach nearby, there are plenty of opportunities for walks, fresh air and exploring.

Please note that Curlew is our only dog-friendly Forest Room. Dogs must be kept on a lead when outside near the cabins to help look after the local wildlife and ensure all guests can enjoy their stay.
