First look at Droitwich Spa Lido designs at public information event
Residents will have the chance to find out more about plans for Wychavon's £12.5 million transformation of Droitwich Spa Lido at a special information event.
The drop-in session takes place on Monday 13 July, between 2pm and 7pm, at Droitwich Spa Community Hall, Heritage Way. The event will give people the opportunity to meet the project team, architects and designers behind the scheme, ask questions and find out more about the proposals.
Visitors will also be among the first to see a new series of computer-generated images of the transformed Lido.
People are welcome to drop in at any point during the event and stay for as long as they wish. The multi-million-pound investment will turn the Lido into a year-round leisure destination while enhancing its iconic Art Deco character.
Plans include a spa, a larger brine bath than originally proposed, a new bistro overlooking the pool, upgraded changing facilities, a modern splash pad, improved accessibility features, a new snack kiosk serving visitors to the Lido and Lido Park, car park improvements, restored Art Deco building and an enhanced entrance from Worcester Road.
The overall vision for the Lido remains unchanged from the scheme backed by 86% of people who took part in an engagement survey on the original concept design in November 2024. The main change between the two sets of designs is the café will no longer be relocated but remain in its current position and be extended.
A planning application is expected to be submitted in August. Once approved, work is expected to start on the redevelopment early next year, with the new Lido opening to customers in 2028.

This is one of the biggest investments we have ever made in the town and a once-in-a-generation opportunity to secure the long-term future of the Lido, well after Wychavon has gone due to Local Government Reorganisation.
