another reason why its important to get your milk from a certified organic or biodynamic or better farm system which is close to the natural cycle. Or reduce milk intake and try oat-based "milk" which you can literally make yourself by taking oats, water and a spoonful of sunflower oil, blend and voila its home-made oatly! If you're making a smoothie, half your ingredients are already there, you won't even miss the dairy milk, try it!

so it's been a very long time I know.. thankfully covid-19 has been reduced to a great extent around the world and we are able to enjoy public life once more. With that said comes the notion of planning for events and website improvements and the like. Of course since this has purely been a voluntary and often solitary effort (besides the events themselves which always bring plenty of folk to the table), it would be great to invite some new energy into making old plans come to fruition. So if you'd like to get in touch and help out, do get in touch!

In case you missed it, yesterday was the last day of the decadal . What an inspirational sustainability playground it was, it is so much more than flowers and has come a long way since my first and last visit to NL 20 years ago!

Hello everyone, its been a while, hope you are all well! The good news is that the pandemic is more or less under control which means we will look to revive our events as well! In the mean time, something fun has been introduced, a little online store we like to call the OPK Kabinet. Have a look and see what we've got inside - hint, your plants will love it!

Now to the uninitiated, why the fuss about worm castings? Well there's infinite articles about it - so here's a link to one of them, but in short its the best way to process your food scraps (non-cooked) and produce highly nutritional and sustainable compost for your plants - a perfectly circular s...

Happy 2022 everyone! Add living an OPK lifestyle to your list of resolutions. The world needs to transition to a more sustainable system and you can play your part by participating in a local, organic and veg-based circular economy. Doing so will reduce society's ecological footprint and increase its resilience as well as restore nature and biodiversity!

The pandemic may still be raging but I get the sense we are due for an in-person event this year! Meanwhile its time to pick up some old projects from off the backburner - such as our famous cook book which was made in 2012 but never published - its quite an ambition of mine to produce it for you guys so that is definitely in the works!

HK's first food waste digester - combined heat and power for electricity generation to run the plant itself and excess power for 3000 households. Its able to process 200 tonnes of food waste daily, however HK creates 3600 tonnes of food waste daily! We'd need 18 such systems.. (and we have 18 districts) think about how much improvement is necessary to avoid this wasteful ecological footprint. We need more smaller distributed systems in every district and housing estate. Above all, simply less food waste, improved education and campaigns! More home composters and an OPK lifestyle.

O · PARK1, the first organic resources recovery centre, locating at Siu Ho Wan of North Lantau adopts anaerobic digestion technology to convert food waste into biogas (a source of renewable energy similar to natural gas) for electricity generation whilst the residues from the process can be produce...
