We realise times have change so we can also cater for the Gluten Free, with a specific menu. We have lovely staff, a huge car park, and a massive outdoor area t

o enjoy. We have a tree house, and playground equipment for the kids to have some fun and give mums and dads a bit of peace while enjoying their food outside under one of our a lovely new umbrellas or a tree. and we are also happy for the family dog to get out and stretch their legs as well. Why not pay us a visit and enjoy it all for yourself !!!

Good shakey morning ebryones

Oh my ....what in the worlds was that !!!!
Did anyone's else feel that shakey thing or was it just my big sister Boo jumping up to sit besides me?
Whatever it was it was horrible!!!
And somefing else I'll tells you for free, I knows now why hoomans call us saredy cats.... all 3 of us were terrified.
I'ves never felts that before and I never wants to again, but Mum said ..." get use to it Charlie" its an earthquake and they will keep happenings.
Well...NO THANK YOU. I don't want to get use to it and another fing I'll tells you for free..
I could tells Mum was trying to brave for us but she was a scardey cat too 😹
I guess im really lucky though...
Mum was worried for us and Boo said " Charlie come sit beside me, I'll looks after you".

I mean really....all I can finks about is ..
What if Mum hadn't rescued me? I would have been all alone and really, really scared 🙀

She then asked did I recognise the lovely lady with her?

I said I could recognise her face,( thinking she may have been in before), but then she told me who she was and I clicked instantly.

She is a very well known NZer...probably more recognisable to us slightly older ones.

Viv’s Kitchen is looking for a reliable and hardworking Pie & Sandwich Maker to join our busy kitchen team.

This is a hands-on role preparing pies, sandwiches and other cabinet food for our café. Experience in food preparation is preferred, but a great attitude, reliability and willingness to learn are just as important.

Good morning everyone
Well at last I have 5 minutes to take the time to thank everyone who visited us over the school holidays and Matariki weekend.
That particular weekend was a record one for us and in fact, the whole 2 weeks have been excellent, (which we were extremely grateful for). Like most others, we had seen a bit of a downturn with fuel cost situation. So it was refreshing to see so many people out and about enjoying some quality time. However it will be interesting to see if things slow down again now, with the fuel price uncertainty returning.

One thing I wanted to do these holidays was to have some special treats just for the kids.
I never found the time to do as much as I hoped, as it was hard enough keeping up with the everyday products as well as not feeling so great this last week.
BUT..... I did do a couple of colourful treats and pleased to say they were a hit and didn't last long. Rainbow coloured cheesecakes and marshmallow lollie slice.

Amongest it all, there was also our very unexpected visit from the influencer " Kosmos" who is looking for NZ's best Mince & Double Cheese pie. We don't actually do those, ( YET 😉) and we were over the moon to have him rate our normal Mince & Cheese an 8.8 out of 10.
Considering we're not trained bakers and just do good old homebaked style cooking, we were very surprised to do so well and YES......people were commenting that they had seen his review 😊 he also managed to devour a cream horn as well. So a huge shout to him for calling in.....Thanks Kosmos.

All in all a very busy, but very satisfying holidays and not to forget.... the Cream Horns were flying out the door as well and the total now sold is just over 680,000 😳.
So with that said, once again a huge thank you to all that chose to visit. Its now a long way off until the next long weekend and holidays, but we will definitely be looking forward to it.

HELP !!
I don't know what to do's.

Mum got dad to take this picture fing last night....its of me, showing how much I loves my Mum, but then this mornings I heard her tell Dads Im gonna be For Sales 🙀
I knows shes not feeling properly well cause she was making those loud "arrrrchoo" noises 🤧and sounds funny when she talks.
But is that any reason to get rid of me ?
I FINKS NOT !!

Then I heard her saying about me annoying Lucy and chasing her with my 2am Zoomies.
Well.....Lucy needs to stop being a cry baby and anyways, what does Mum & Dad expects....they're gone all day, Boo & Lucy stay in the garage all day so what am I supposed to do? All I can do is sleeps and get full of energies...so whats they're problem?
Not my fault they wants to sleep when I wants to play !!!
So if I wants to do 2am Zoomies....
I WILL !!!! Because I knows mum is too much of a softie and they won't get rid of me !!!

Good morning everyone
A little bit of a long read for you today 😊
I have to admit, I would love to have been able to sleep for a couple more hours this morning, but sadly not possible, so Im sitting having my morning coffee and disecting the holiday weekend.
We want to truly thank everyone who called in, I think its fair to say it was quite possibly the biggest holiday weekend we have had in a very, very long time,( if not ever)
Yesterday we sold 495 cream horns,
So with Friday & Saturday added, thats a total of 1321 .
The work involved in putting out these numbers, needs to be seen to be believed. It takes one person all day to roll and cook those horns and at times like this, a little helper is often called upon.
Then theres the filling of them. All by hand of course. So although it can become a little overwhelming trying to keep up, it can also be a challenge, and as I always say, thats just one thing, then theres the pies, the sweet cabinet, the savoury cabinet, the grill cooking, then serving the long line of visitors, the drinks, the food delivery, the table clearing, the dishwashing ( oh the hundreds of dishes 😫)
All while trying to smile.
BUT.....Im proud to say we might make the odd small mistake along the way but all in all the team deliver exceptionally well.
So a huge thank you to them and all who visited this weekend 👍

NOW....A different subject altogether...
SAGE has gone missing in Wanganui.
She is a very well known and loved family member at the Hairdressing Salon in Wanganui East and last year her owner asked if I could make her a hi vis jacket like Kitkats,( which I happily did) Sadly Sage never came home on the 6th of July and as you can imagine they are desperate to find her. The worrying thing is, this is not the first time shes gone missing, and the last time she was actually stolen!! So you can imagine the relief her mum felt when she was finally returned. Hopefully this is not the case again, but if everyone can keep a look out for her or if you hear of anything please contact them.
Lets get Sage home where she belongs 🏡 😿

Yes...its me.
Mum said I hads to jump on the Facebook fing and do my stuff because peoples are waiting to hear from me. I has no idea what shes talking about.
Doing my stuff...what stuff ???😼
Why does people wait to hear from me...this page is about Viv's Kitchen and all the fings they do and the yummy foods they have, like those cream horn fings and pies and loads of other stuffs.... so whats so important about me?
Im just a kitten, ( that mum calls a little sh*te at times), just a ball of fluff, that was living it rough, was colds and hungry and lonely and this lady started feedings me, talking to me and then she tricked me and caught me in this cage fing and now the rest, as they say, is history.
I didn't know it at the time, but that lady was going to become my mum and DON'T tell her I said this but....shes really cool, and I'll tells you why...

Because she really loves me that much, she doesn't want me to eat my meats cold, so when she gets home, she takes it out of the big white quiet fing calleds a fridge or somefing and then she puts it into the noisey little white fing and boom....just like magic, when it comes out it warms😸
Anyways I got her to do one of those film fings so you can sees for yourself, and just so mum finks I love her for doings this, I make my very special loud motor run for her cause I know she loves to hear it.....BUT !!
All alongs, Im just finking....

HURRY UP WITH THE FOOD WOMAN.....I REALLY DON'T CARE IF ITS HOT OR COLD 😹😹😹

Oh dear, I gotta love her though...she really does care for me.

Good evening everyone
Well I hope your Matariki Friday has been a good one and the start of a great weekend.
Matariki always proves to be a busy one for us , but today just blew us away. The video speaks for itself, when I say we were busy, I'm not lying, it was crazy from start to finish, with no let up.

Im not feeling 100% and finding the energy to get through today was a bit of a challenge, but the team gave it all they had and we got through, what turned out to be a record day !!
It was huge....over 490 transactions through the till and get this...
481 cream horns 😳
We are however very thankful for it as there is no doubt about it...things have been a little quieter with the fuel costs and people not having that little extra to spend.
So a big thank you to everyone who stops by, as hard as these days are....I do still enjoy the challenge.
Also a big thanks to the team....Cris, Amelda, Reyna, Jessica, ( our little mum to be), Trudy, Nickey, Crystal, Jacqui, Kate, Florence and Sahara who, for a young girl was ever so pleasant while serving the hundreds of people she faced.

Enjoy the rest of your evening everyone and for all the Charlie fans, there will be an update this weekend 😻

Good afternoon everyone
Oh my goodness
I don't know how many of you have heard about Kosmos and his pie reviews, but hes looking for the best mince & double cheese pie in NZ.
We don't do a double cheese, but im sure we could look at it.
Now considering we're not a bakery and pies are not a specialty for us and something we have learnt to make ourselves, (including the base pastry that Kevan makes)
Never in a million years did we think he would call on us, so Im pleased to say we are over the moon with his review. 8.8 out of 10.

Good evening everyone
Ive been continuing to make my cheesecakes and experiment with different flavours.
Ive done Biscoff, Oreo, Strawberry, and something very different was a banana caramel one, the Lemon ones are still proving to be very popular and for the school holidays Ive done this very colourful one especially for the kids.
Something else Ive got back into doing and they are selling out on a daily basis are my custard squares.

Hopefully we see you over the holidays to try one of our truly yummy treats 😋
