Our hearts are broken for our community.
Yesterday’s tragedy is something no family, friend, or community should ever have to experience. To the families who lost their precious children, there are simply no words. No parent should ever have to face the unimaginable heartbreak of saying goodbye to their child. To the family, friends, and students of the teacher whose life was lost, we grieve with you as well. These were lives filled with love, purpose, and futures that deserved so much more. We are deeply sorry for the heartbreak you are facing, and we are holding each of you close in our hearts and prayers.
We also want to acknowledge the incredible courage of the man who stepped in and brought the violence to an end. We are forever grateful for his bravery, his selflessness, and the lives he protected by stepping in when he did. We can only imagine the weight of what he experienced, and we hope he is surrounded by the same love and support our community is extending to those who are grieving.
Central Oregon isn’t just where we do business. It’s our home. It’s where we raise our families, build friendships, work alongside our neighbors, and share our lives with one another.
Today and in the days ahead, we come together as a community to grieve with you, pray for you, and stand beside you.
We know that no words can ease the pain or undo the unimaginable heartbreak this tragedy has caused. No family should ever have to endure such a devastating loss. Our deepest prayer is that those affected are surrounded by an abundance of love, strength, and unwavering support, not just today, but throughout the difficult days ahead.
