🎃 Happy Halloween 🎃

It’s a very little bit drizzly- hope the rain gets finished before truck or treat time- but we will be here unless it’s a downpour. We have candy for truck or treaters and will have warm drinks, treats and spooky movies inside.

Don’t forget the costume contest! If you want to enter, we will take your photo in our ‘photo window’ and post it tonight.

You guys online get to pick the winners 👍. The top two with the most ‘likes’ will win. 1st place wins a burger and a drink. 2nd place wins a breakfast sandwich and a drink. Looking to announce the winners by Monday.

Apple fried pies are ready! This is a baby with leftover crust. Quality control expert says we are ‘green light’.

Have one with some warm spiced tea for the full Fall experience.

Making hot honey chicken and rice bowl $5. Add beans, shredded cheese or queso as extras if desired.

We also can make fresh tortilla as a side if you like.

Stop in if you’re out and about today. Could be last nice day before some clouds and much needed rain move in.

Here we go- last week of October 🍂🎃
I’m told our leaf color is winning right now- ahead of Missouri and NWA. Get out there this week as it looks like (much needed) rain is on the way.

Menu plan for the week:
Monday- grill menu for lunch. Fried bologna sandwich is the grill special this week.
Tuesday- Beans n taters with cornbread.
Wednesday- chicken and rice bowl. Add toppings or chips if you like.
Thursday- fried chicken plate special.
Friday- fried catfish plate special.
Saturday- pork chop breakfast special til noon.

Dessert: we sold out of our Halloween sugar cookies but we have our ghostly rice krispy treats. Will bake a fresh batch of brownies today. Fingers crossed. Get some apple fried pies ready this week.

🍂🍁The plan is to be here to give out candy on Halloween 🎃 👻 - barring heavy rain or flooding. We shall see…

I’m having the chile/lime chicken and rice bowl. Rice is cilantro rice. Add chile lime baked chicken, sweet corn and pinto beans topped with melty cheese.., what’s not to like? Add some of my garden salsa and fresh tortilla chips and I’m all set😋

Weather is warming up a bit. Hoping for a) more rain and b) maybe this cool weather was enough to start some color.

Monday- we had pork chop plate special today.
Tuesday- Beans n taters with cornbread.
Wednesday- chicken and rice bowl
Thursday- fried chicken plate special.
Friday- fried catfish plate special.
Saturday- how about French toast with either fried apples or pear preserves?

Dessert: pineapple upside down cake. We are tuning up for Halloween with rice krispy ghosts and some sugar cookies. Will update.

Flashback to weekends at the grandparents’ house. My Granma would coyly ask what I wanted for breakfast when the biscuits were already in the oven and gravy on the stovetop.

I would split the biscuit between white gravy and chocolate gravy. It was like breakfast and then dessert🙃
