Going through pictures and remembering when Christopher Tuthill loved carrot sticks and Mr. Softee cones (just the cone 😂).

Who knew back then that we'd both end up becoming chefs? Me in Atlanta, him 9,560 miles away in Thailand.

From two kids sitting on the kitchen floor in Rochdale to two chefs on opposite sides of the world. Queens will always be the foundation. ❤️

We wanted to take a moment to share something personal with our Che Butter Jonez family.

Last week, Chef received news that required him to immediately head to New York to be with his family. Sadly, on Thursday, October 22, his father passed away.

For those of you who've been wondering where Chef has been, that's where he's been. In his absence, our team has been holding things down here at the restaurant while he takes this time to be with his family.

Today, we want to take a moment to celebrate the life of a man who meant so much to so many.

To our beloved Papa Quinlan, thank you for the love, kindness, and quiet strength you shared with those around you. We know how incredibly proud you were of your son, and we know how much that meant to him.

From all of us at Che Butter Jonez, we extend our deepest condolences and love to Chef Malik and the entire Quinlan family during this difficult time.

Rest well, Papa Quinlan. You were loved, and you will be missed. ❤️

We've been spending some time behind the bar, working on our cocktail menu and giving a little more attention to what we're pouring.

Meet Cher'ish the Day, one of the latest creations from our bartender Nigel. Vodka, cucumber, orange juice, cherry juice, and Angostura bitters. Refreshing, a little sweet, and definitely worth trying.

We're having a good time curating a cocktail menu that feels like Che Butter Jonez.

It's pretty simple. We know you. We know you like to eat. Now you can hang out, eat, and drink, and we're excited about that.

So next time you're in, ask Nigel for a Cher'ish the Day. Nutcrackers coming soon! And YES, there will be Coquito this year.

Chef says the only thing he's ever been good at is being himself...

Yes, Chef is gonna leave the kitchen and come to your table if you have a crazy request.

He's gonna come out of the kitchen just to hate on customers from the Bronx. 🤣🤣

Chef is gonna tell customers where to go eat OTHER than here.

He's gonna post the places he eats at from our BUSINESS page.

He's gonna ask you where you're from, then tell you all the s**t he knows about your little town that you thought nobody else knew.

He's gonna tell you about his lil sisters' degrees, his block, his dad, how we met... blah, blah, blah.

So when people say they don't like Che Butter Jonez...

He feels like you don't like HIM. 😂😅

So we've been working on something.

Since we opened in Decatur, it's been pretty much nonstop. And while we love that, we haven't really had a chance to soak in the neighborhood. Get to know folks, hang out, have a drink, watch a game, turn the music up a little. You know, just enjoy being here.

So we're making some changes.

We're introducing THE NIGHT SHIFT.

The kitchen will close for a little while around 4 or 4:30 and reopen at 5 with a smaller menu. We'll have evening specials, some new things, and we're bringing back some old favorites.

And YES, the bacon, egg, and cheese is coming back. Breakfast at night. Why not? 😂 Fried rice is coming back too.

We want to put more attention on the bar and give people a chance to come in without always walking into the madhouse that Che Butter Jonez can be on any given day.

We want to actually get to know our neighbors. And we haven't had much of an opportunity to do that yet.

We've been talking about slowing things down in the evenings for a while now, and the only way we're going to do it is to do it.

First shift: Saturday, October 31. Halloween night. 5 PM.
