Good evening to all. It has been a while since we’ve had anything to say. This has been devastating and hard. As many of you know, Mermaid Marina and restaurant as well as our boat houses took on crippling damage with winter storm fern. We have been busy trying to clean up debris and plan what our next steps are. We have been hopeful that federal and state disaster relief would come, but as of today there has been none. We will remain hopeful, but we must continue on. The two large boat houses have been removed and Monday morning We will begin tearing out the restaurant. While this is a terrifying time for Luke and I, we are excited for what is about to be born. We are not leaving, not giving up and NOT FOR SALE. We are tirelessly working to find a solution for immediate fuel, drinks, ice, snacks, beer and slushies. Beginning tomorrow at sundown the parking lot, boat ramp and patio bar area is closed to the public. We will reopen the boat ramp area only once the barge is safely resting where it will be taken apart. Our tentative plan is to be open in some capacity for fuel and store items before Memorial Day. Thank you to everyone who has checked on us, offered to help, brought needed supplies and just hugged us. We still need the hugs. Please be patient while we navigate what the future of the Mermaid will look like. We look forward to sharing with you, our loyal customers, the new beginning that lies ahead. We could complain about what’s happened to our business, our family, our friends and this season that’s upon us, but instead, we want to tell you all how blessed we feel for your love, support and this second chance we’ve been given to .
