It’s a beautiful week for enjoying the numerous playgrounds and parks throughout Decorah, and for getting a little messy while playing in the dirt before the sun (quickly) sets after school. Speaking of playing in the dirt...before you head home to clean up, stop by Sugar Bowl so your kiddo can create their own Dirt Cup Sundae, with a twist! Add Oreos and Gummy Bears to any flavor (and perhaps whipped cream too!) and you’re bound to create a core memory this week. We highly recommend. ME WANT COOKIE: Sugar cookie ice cream in a natural blue hue, packed with Oreos and cookie dough.

Not feeling nostalgic enough for a Dirt Cup Sundae? Enjoy this flavor in a flavored waffle cone or flight so you can enjoy 4, 6, or 12 flavors before they run out this season.

Whether you were looking at the Mill Street cup or the Sugar Bowl one, we’re guessing you have a mix of emotions just wishing you could simultaneously hold your favorite drink and scoop right now! Alas the days of doing so are numbered for 2026, so buckle up and keep reading because this week is going to take us on a roller coaster of emotions.

Sugar Bowl closes for the Season on Sunday November 1, open daily 12-9pm with a shortened day on Halloween (12-4pm).

The first true sign of the end of the season drawing near is here. The Parklet has been stored away for the winter months, 😭 but inside the shop we are still prepped and ready to make more memories with you before closing for the season. ☀️The sunshine is definitely giving off ice cream vibes today so come visit us before the season and warm temps disappear into the Winter months.

It’s time to go for the flight! Every Friday we offer $2 off a 4, 6 or 12 flavor flight. (Friday night flights… What happens at flight club stays in flight club.)

Area educators and Luther College aspiring educators this is for you! Luther Students are BACK in Decorah and last night's Activity Fair was a great kick off to the year ahead. As everyone heads to their first day of class on campus today we're looking forward to seeing those first day of school pictures just as much as your family back home.

Speaking of the first day of school...Just last week our feeds were flooded with first day photos (children and teachers alike), and we're sure this year's teachers reflected on all of the hard work it took to get to this point. Imagine how encouraging it would have been to have a working professional meet you before you had a degree in hand.
Before you student taught or had your first placement.
Someone to show first-hand that the hard work pays off.
Someone to share a success story of the student who was influenced by something you did.

This Saturday we highly encourage you to be that someone for a current Luther Student (and PS There's free ice cream involved!)

Join us THIS SATURDAY, 7:30pm at Sugar Bowl for the easiest and sweetest networking event ever.
