It is with a heavy heart that Banh Meee will be leaving Downtown Hartford this December.
When we first opened our doors almost a decade ago, I was younger, full of energy, and didn't have a family to worry about. Today, I am blessed with a wonderful wife and three hyperactive young kids who are just starting school and need their dad. My wife also needs my support with her own business and our growing family far more than Banh Meee needs me right now. We only have 1 shot to be a parent but many shots to be a small business owner.
For over a year, I’ve tried to juggle both family life and running a small business. In doing so, I’ve run myself down—and both my kids and my shop have suffered because I've been spread too thin. After much thought, my wife and I decided it’s best to close our downtown storefront and relocate Banh Meee to Simsbury, CT, right alongside her salon.
We aren't leaving our Hartford home empty, either! We’ve found a wonderful family to take over the space, and we are currently working with them and our landlord to make the transition as seamless as possible. Until then, we will remain open for lunch, Monday through Friday.
Thank you all for your incredible support over the years. You can still find the soul of Banh Meee in Simsbury with a scaled-down—but even more flavorful—menu. We hope to see you there!
