One of the joys (and occasional challenges!) of caring for a building that’s been standing since 1853 is that small repairs sometimes uncover a slightly more time consuming one.

Rather than disrupt your dining experience with jackhammers and construction, we’re closing for the rest of today so we can do the job right.

Good morningggg from Freight House! ☀️

Before the breakfast rush takes over, our crew has been busy in the kitchen making sure breakfast is worth getting out of bed for. This morning we’ve got fresh eggs, house potatoes, Erie County bacon, hand-made sausage patties, biscuits & gravy, warm apple fritters, Pancakes, French Toast, and S&S Milan tapped syrup ready to pour.

Breakfast is served until 9AM to 2PM! At 11 AM, then we roll right into lunch with our full menu available. Whether you’re craving comfort food to start the day or stopping in for lunch, we’ve got you covered.

Looking for a job or know someone who is? I’m hiring for Back of House at Freight House Tavern!

I’m looking for people with a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a natural desire to jump in and help. Our kitchen works the fryer, pizza station, and flattop. We get busy, but when the rush slows down, there’s always prep, cleaning, stocking, and getting ready for the next service. We’re open 7 days a week, so there’s always something to do.

You don’t have to be perfect, but you do need to be able to multitask and work well with a team. If you’re dependable and take pride in your work, I’d love to meet you!

Pay starts at $14/hour during training (typically about one to two weeks). Once you’ve learned the menu, can confidently run your station, and are ready to work independently, pay increases to $15+/hour based on experience and performance.

We’ve had a few employees get taken out by whatever bug is going around, so I’ve been back in the kitchen this week and I couldn’t help but show off some of these plates (Low-key proud of myself too. 😂)

• Jacob’s Mac Express: an 8oz burger loaded with smoked Gouda mac & cheese and BBQ sauce. Incredible and named after one of our favorite regulars!

• Loaded Burger Salad if you’re craving a little less bun, but know you can’t beat a Freight House burger.

• Of COURSE, wings! Y’all begged for Wing Night to come back, so we did, and now they’re fried in beef tallow for an unreal crisp! ALL day TODAY 11AM to 8PM!

🌯 And don’t sleep on our house-made Southwest Egg Rolls, we make them from the filling to the fold, fresh every time.

Happy Birthday to our Head Farmer in charge, the one and only Joe! 🍎

The life of every party, and still manages to set the standard for what hard work, integrity, and leadership actually look like. The only guy who can pull off an “I ❤️ MILFs” shirt because everyone knows it’s short for Man I Love Fruit. LOL

He sets the bar high, expects the best from the people around him, and works just as hard as anyone else to get there.
