This is my son. He was two years old.
He didn't eat a peanut. He touched one.
That's all it took. Thirteen years later I still check every menu twice, because all three of my kids carry the same allergy.
If you've ever handed a plate back and asked the server one more time, you know that feeling. It isn't being difficult. It's being a parent.
I also own restaurants here in OKC, so I've sat on both sides of that conversation. Our industry has brutal turnover. You train a team on allergens, and six months later you're training a whole new one. Nobody means to get it wrong. But "nobody means to" isn't good enough when it's your kid.
So I built the tool I wanted as a dad, and the one I wish I'd had as an owner.
Foodality matches you to dishes, not just restaurants, that fit your profile. Peanuts, shellfish, dairy, eggs, gluten, vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian. Swipe right to save it, left to keep looking.
And it isn't only for allergy families. Everybody is eating for something. A fitness goal, a doctor's note, a preference, a season of life. Same idea either way: show me what I can actually eat, near me, right now.
This week we opened BETA testing for the Oklahoma City metro. iOS first, Android coming soon.
My ask is simple. Try it and tell me the truth. What's broken, what's missing, what made you close the app. Honest feedback right now is worth more to me than a five-star review later.
Free for diners. Free for Oklahoma restaurants. At this stage it's a passion project, my way of giving back to the state that raised me.
Restaurant owners, I know the calls, the special requests, the allergy question at 8pm on a Friday. Foodality puts your dishes in front of people who are already searching for exactly what you serve. A new special or a staple you've run for twenty years, they'll find you.
Download it. Be honest with me. foodality.app
Always confirm allergen details with the restaurant directly. Foodality helps you find the dish and the right questions to ask. It doesn't replace asking them.
