Lost your ball in the long grass? 🌾 Here's a golf rule worth remembering.
You have three minutes to search for your ball. If you can't find it, you can't simply drop a new ball next to the rough and keep playing.
Without a provisional, you'll need to return to the tee and play your next shot.
The best way to save time? Hit a provisional when you think your original ball might be lost. If your first ball is lost, the provisional becomes your ball in play and you can keep moving without walking all the way back to the tee.
A little preparation can save a lot of time on the course.
