Carol's Corner Store Carol (Mom, or “Ma” as everyone called her) lived in the fishing town of Gloucester, Massachusetts. She was also an incredible chef.

The daughter of a shellfisherman, she spent her life working in the fishing industry - cutting fish, shucking clams, and later co-owned a successful shellfish wholesaling business. Chowders, stews, seafood casseroles - everything she made was gold. Carol’s food, along with being incredibly hearty and delicious, was also an outlet for her devotion to family and community. Anyone stopping by Carol’s

kitchen could expect to be fed, served a beverage of your choosing (tea or something stronger!), and hang out for great conversation. With Carol’s Corner Store, we hope to honor her tradition of good food being the driver of community, friendship, and conversation, as well as honoring the community, friendship and conversation that Barb’s Country Store created for so many years.

So Carol’s is officially on the market. We have really enjoyed our time at the store, but I was offered a job that works far better with having a family with 3 teenagers. As they say, family comes first, and I am already seeing the benefits of that after just a couple of weeks…
We’re grateful for the friends we’ve made and to the regulars that came into the store. That little store is a magical place! Thanks again to everyone who came in and enjoyed the food! Best to all of you!

This week’s Wednesday Dinner - Meatloaf!

A generous portion of meatloaf with mashed potatoes, gravy, and a choice of Garden Salad, Caesar Salad, or broccoli and cheese sauce. $12 per person. Please order by Tuesday afternoon if possible. Thanks!
