I know you are not supposed to make big life decisions when grieving but I made one. I am not going to do many shows. My store has not been together since April. I don’t want to be out in the elements and traveling in wind or bad weather. Packing and unpacking all the time and paying even if I have to miss the show. I’m going to stay home and sell from my garage. I can also have more fun selling my plants.

Got up in my roof and found a plethora of fur fabrics! Over 3 yards of Koala fur for bears. Cut one or more and when I realized I had to pick the fur through the seams my hands wouldn’t let me. A project never finished….
Furs will be in my shop. I also will be selling Bias Tape, Warm & Natural, & Insul Brite.

People think sewing is mostly stitching.
Experienced quilters know it's actually 80% ironing, 15% seam ripping, and 5% wondering where the scissors went.

To get my guest rooms ready I mostly have to put away fabric and my quilt boards. Both bed boards and extensions fit easily behind the door. Lightweight paneling and easy to move! Unfinished Dolphin quilt gets put away again!

How many potholders & oven mitts can I make now? I was rationing the last few months but now I’m all set. I will sell yards from store if anyone needs it

My great grandmother was the oldest person in Orrs Island for several years before she died at 104 1/2. My middle name Ellen is after her. I never knew where my love of potholders and aprons came from until a cousin sent me this article. I am in touch with a couple historians there and hopefully will soon know what her Lobster Aprons looked like. Good escape right now!

For those of you expecting to see me this weekend in Ft Bragg or 4th in Arnold I had to cancel. My Mother in law passed and my kids will be coming home for service on the 2nd. My store will be open most days this summer. No more shows scheduled till 8/29 in Cobb. Out $300 in no refund booth fees to add to my grief…. Life goes on for some of us

I have been sewing for a customer for over 35 years. We usually fabric shop together then she tells me exactly what she wants and I do it. I have upholstered her beautiful home many times through the years. She went to Japan with her husband and they stamped these pieces. Tried brown but she redesigned with the purple that I like way better. Hardest part was new travel pillow inserts are way bigger so this is a new size pillow 15” x 20”!
