I am sitting here preparing to go to Amadeus to serve people for their Thanksgiving meal. I find in the quiet of this morning, time to reflect on this past year and all the colors of gratitude that have come my way, some big, some small but all completing a picture of my life. Thanksgiving was always my mothers' favorite holiday. She took great pride in her caramalized turkey and all the other side dishes that adorned this immigrant family table. We greeted things that were quintessentially american into our argentine home, taking a bittersweet joy in being part of our adopted country's tradition while losing some of our own. It is a dance of trying to figure out who you are as an american, and, what you keep as an immigrant identity. Through my restaurant Amadeus, I have shared many of the meals from my childhood and take great joy when customers enjoy a meal from my childhood that I particularly loved. It is as if you see me, someone who dances between two cultures.
On this day, I want to thank all of you who come to Amadeus and support us. I am humbled each time our doors open, and you walk in and share yourselves with us. I hope each and everyone of you will feel what the expansiveness of gratitude can do for your life. Thank you, Diana
