This cabinet was full 24 hours ago. 🚨 If you see something, say something. 🚨
Yesterday someone stole an entire cabinet of our paper goods—at least two extra-large suitcases worth of commercial toilet paper, paper towels, and napkins.
Last year, someone stole nearly half of our Golden Girls bathroom décor. In recent years we’ve had board games disappear, dishes vanish, and musical equipment walk out the door.
This isn’t harmless. It isn’t funny. And it isn’t victimless.
Every item that’s stolen has to be replaced by a small, independent neighborhood business that’s already working hard to keep its doors open. Replacement isn’t just monetary, it’s the time and sanity of our staff as well.
So we’re asking our community to help.
If you see someone taking something that clearly belongs to Hopvine, tell a staff member immediately. If you see suspicious behavior, say something to us. Please help us keep losses from happening. We’ve nailed all the decor to the walls, moved the most sensitive items away from the public, and now we’ll be locking up our toilet paper as well. Not sure why someone needs 6 rolls of jumbo industrial toilet paper, 5 commercial rolls of paper towels and 8 packages of napkins all in one go, but here we are.
And to whoever has been treating our pub like a free supply closet: you’re not stealing from a corporation. You’re stealing from a neighborhood business and the community that keeps it alive.
Seattle, help us look out for each other. We can’t be everywhere at once, but together we can make it clear that stealing from local businesses isn’t acceptable.
