I probably had a little too much fun this past week adding new stuff to the cart … from our beer distributors

I also reached out to a few of the smaller distributors to try and snag some of my favs that are hard to find in the stores (watch our list grow over the next few weeks )

We’ll be back tomorrow , Saturday and Sunday with some exciting additions to our drink menu

If dinner tonight is the same we will be open til 9 but if it’s ghost town because of all the other holiday festivities we might close up early but we will be sure to let you know

Question for our Gluten Free Guests.

I often hear requests for a gluten free roll for our Philly Sandwich.

I've been looking into pricing and the gluten free sub roll is 4x the cost of our current sub roll.

I would have to charge $20 for a Gluten free Philly

Is this something you want? Or do you have enough gluten free options to choose from

Alright, y'all, let's talk about why we cut Thursday from our schedule and switched to a 3 day work week right before summer.

I've been in the food industry a very long time... like raised in the food industry.

Some of my earliest memories involve going to the roadside diner/truck stop in the small town where my grandparents lived, which was managed by my aunt. We would have breakfast on the weekends and my grandma would say, "Let's bus not only our table but the entire restaurant and make sure everyone is taken care of and happy."

There was a time when operating a restaurant was a more financially achievable experience. I am never going to say it was easier. Perhaps a bit more financially accessible.

We're nearing the end of our second year and some things are very very clear.

~ The talent pool is small. Finding individuals excited and ready to work and grow in the food industry is becoming increasingly difficult.

~ The cost of literally everything is growing each and every day

~ The volume of people looking to eat and drink out is shrinking by the day

We are an owner-operated business. Both my husband and I are in the space literally every moment we are open and then some to ensure Sunshine is as successful as we can make it. There are weeks where we are stretched thin, stressed out and wish taking an impromptu vacation was an option.

BUT what we really enjoy are all the amazing experiences we have with those who visit us... daily, weekly, or monthly.... We enjoy getting to know you, feeding you, and living life alongside you. For every piece of negative feedback or comment, or for guests we see struggling during their visit. We want you to know we see it and are doing our best to grow alongside of you

With our version of Sunshine we are doing everything we can to offer our small town something unique—something that cannot be offered elsewhere without causing financial bankruptcy or burning so bright that we just burn out too quickly.
