Here we are, it’s really spring and farmers markets are starting in a few weeks! Here’s a few candid winter snaps and sentence fragments to sum some up 🪅 seattle regional food system conference, violet takeover efforts blooming, huckleberries heartthrobs, new farm cat riding in style, rally4RALLY was/is/will be awesome, seasons progress, pacing for peace.
Of special mention: 🪶Beloved Kriska has a patch of earth to call her own on the Bogechiel, with such great dreams to build a sweat lodge, camp spaces and shelters to nourish elders and support those in need. If you want to help, please reach out and I’ll put you in contact.
🪷In the background there’s slow progress with infrastructure updates on the farm, and efficiency efforts in process and packaging; but in the context of years dreaming these things, todo bien, its happening. ❤️🩹in the foreground I’ve been dealing with a usually-hidden autoimmune disorder (lichen schlerosis) that has been more extreme. It centers on inflammation and skin issues, sometimes debilitating, but not obvious to those around me unless I speak up. I generally suppress my pain and carry on in a mix of shame and maybe stubbornness that doesn’t want to acknowledge/talk about it. Having a full-body flare up that put me out recently was hard, yet a potent reminder to make disability accessible places, to slow down, and be braver sharing! It’s the spaces in-between that give our bodies time to heal, and our hearts/minds to process. If anyone wants to organize a disability pride rally with us in July (disability pride month!) let me know and let’s do ✨✌🏽😮💨🌱
🌹 of major mention: Im so grateful for the compassionate, steady, professional and kind staff support this part time crew shows up with, couldn’t do it without you! @ Spencer and to friends and family that give advice, hugs, adaptable adventures and soooo much understanding ❤️🪷🤍
