Have you spotted all the kids in hard hats around downtown? That’s the Calder Way Construction Crawl and a SPARK. 🏗️

In response to Phase 2 of the Calder Way project, the Downtown State College Improvement District launched a creative, family-friendly way to keep energy high during construction. Kids grab a free hard hat, collect stickers from participating businesses, earn an activity book, and parents can enter to win a $150 Downtown Gift Card each month.

It works because businesses stepped up. They’re welcoming families in, supporting neighboring shops, creating real in-store engagement, helping keep foot traffic and energy moving throughout downtown, and turning a temporary challenge into a memory-making experience.

Construction is temporary. Community is not. 💙
