Ciao Food & Wine Enthusiasts:

The hills of Piemonte are home to some of Italy's most celebrated wines and on Sunday, August 23rd at 5:00 PM, we invite you to join James Beard Award-Winning Piemontese Chef Roberto Donna and Maurizio Farro of Cantiniere Imports for an evening that celebrates the harmony between exceptional food and wine.

Our featured wines come from two outstanding family wineries: Cascina Alberta, nestled in the rolling hills of Barbaresco, and Schiavenza, a historic estate in the heart of Barolo's Serralunga d'Alba. These producers are known for crafting elegant Nebbiolo wines that express the character and traditions of Piemonte.

Each course has been thoughtfully paired to enhance the wine in your glass. Earthy mushrooms and creamy Robiola cheese highlight the freshness of Barbaresco, while handmade Ravioli del Plin brings out the wine's bright fruit and refined structure. Rich egg-yolk tajarin with sausage ragù complements the depth of Barolo, and slow-braised wild boar with creamy polenta is a natural match for the wine's bold character and long finish. The evening concludes with a refreshing Lemon Caramel Custard paired with the delicate sweetness of Moscato d'Asti.

Our featured dish, Lasagna alla Bolognese, is light, rich and irresistibly flavorful. Originating from the Emilia region, specifically the city of Bologna, this beloved classic was once reserved for holidays and special occasions.

Today, it’s enjoyed by families across Italy and recognized worldwide as an iconic symbol of Italian cuisine, with each region adding its own unique touch. For this special night, we’re honoring a version close to our hearts: a lasagna inspired by Chef’s cherished homeland of Piemonte. It also happens to be Chef Donna’s absolute favorite version and the inspiration behind this evening’s theme.
