Mood Area 52 started in 1998 as a Piazzola inspired neo-tango and silent film score ensemble. Since then the group has morphed into an ensemble defined more by instrumentation and mood than genre. Their most recent releases, Find Some Kind of Light, Company Town, and 1952 Philanski House, blend roots rock, instrumental tango, jazz, blues, Balkan influences, ranchera, and American folk, country, Brechtian cabaret, and classical music.

The Band performs acoustically as a trio with Michael Roderick and cellist Amy Danziger, and Billy Barnett and expands combining the talents of accordionist and vocalist Michael Roderick, cellist Amy Danziger, violinist Julia Frantz, bassist Dan Schmid, and drummer Don Elkington.

The NW EcoBuilding Guild is a community of builders, designers, suppliers, homeowners, and partners concerned with ecological building in the Pacific Northwest.

Isaac McCoy-Sulentic of Sitka Building Services LLC will discuss how high-performance timber construction and local sourcing can help build a low-carbon future rooted in maintaining healthy regional forests. Joining him, Jason Gonzales of Shady Creek Forest will share insights on the opportunities and challenges of managing, milling, and marketing conservation-minded wood in today's climate and economy.
