Tony is beyond honored to be the recipient of the John Merkle Heritage Aware, and much thanks to the Exeter Heritage Commission for the acknowledgment. Historical preservation and heritage recognition remain at the fore of what Vino e Vivo and the Exeter Apothecary maintain as the residents of historic spaces, and Tony especially takes immense pride in preserving as much of heritage Exeter as he can.

Exeter’s 250th celebration will spotlight the residents who’ve helped preserve the town’s history.

***IMPORTANT UPDATE***

The Left Coast vineyard cat is alive and well! Justin was posting his pictures in chronological order, and met this cute guy just after coming back from shooting, whereupon said cat immediately flopped onto his belly and accepted pats. Those of us who have interacted with cats before understand how limp and floppy they can get, and we totally get the concern from all of you. Unfortunately, there isn't a way to reorder those photos, so please accept this very alive and happy kitty as recompense.

The moment you've all been waiting for: the fun day! Meat, Greet, and S***t with Left Coast, Illahe, Willamette Valley Vineyards, Bryn Mawr, Hyland Estate, and Union Wine Company. Proof Justin can still hit clays (and should quit while he's ahead), more delicious wines and interactions with wonderful people. While he comes home exhausted and overwhelmed, Justin is also reminded of the beauty of this place and the wines it produces, and thoroughly impressed with the growing diversity of styles, varietals, and interpretations he discovered during his time out west.

A day split between the biological influences on wine, and the winemaking decisions affecting style of both red and white Oregon wine. Incredible time spent listening to some of the original grape growers and winemakers who believed and still believe in the potential of this beautiful place.

Yesterday, Justin learned all about SOIL! Specifically, the geological history of the Willamette Valley and how that influences wine styles, grape plantings, and vineyard selections. Of course, many a tasty bottle was sampled, and information exchanged to try and get some of these unique wines to you, the people.
