🦆 Meet the “Lucky Duck” Southside Spritz ($14)

A classic Southside Cocktail often rumored to have been a favorite of Al Capone:
Gin + Lime + Prosecco + Simple + Pamplemousse topped soda water and garnished with an orange (or lime for less citrus) + duck

Whether Capone actually drank them regularly is debated, but the cocktail has been tied to Chicago’s South Side and Prohibition-era drinking culture for decades.

Bright, refreshing, and built for sunny afternoons on Morrison. If you’re lucky, your duck comes with you 🤗collect them all!

CROSSTOWN CLASSIC ⚾🍻

This one’s personal for us.

Britt grew up a Sox fan. I grew up a Cubs fan. Family history locked us into that rivalry before we ever had a say in it. 😂

A lot of our summers were spent with friends and family at baseball fields since I went to DePaul and lived a few blocks from Wrigley. Summer was full of watching games, talking trash, eating stadium hot dogs, and defending our teams like it was a full-time job.

On the tip of my tongue I can still taste Old Style while sitting in the Wrigley bleachers stacking beer cups heckling Sox outfielders watching my beloved Cubbies… Britt pretending she wasn’t having fun because she’s a Sox fan (lol).

Come watch Chicago baseball with us. Loud opinions, family rivalries, and somebody always yelling across the room about 2005.

Proof Grand Opening 🍕

This weekend’s soft opening was fun, eye-opening, and exactly what we needed. As many have said to us this past week, you only get to open once.

Huge thank you to everyone who came through, showed love, and helped us get here.. it’s been quite the journey as some of you know!

Now it’s time.

We’re officially opening this Wednesday with regular hours and expanded menus to follow.

A 35-seat tavern, outdoor seating, cold beer, cocktails, and tavern-style Chicago pizza that has been built for hanging out, watching all Chicago games (and general sports bar vibes) doing it how we grew up in the Windy City.

Come grab a table or hit the takeout window.

We’ll have friendly service, good energy, and a lot of pizza coming out of that kitchen.

Proof @ Morrison St. has been quite the journey…

The biggest thing holding up final build details on the bar + dining side? We’re still waiting on TI (Tenant Improvement) approvals.

Anyone who has built in Portland knows the timeline isn’t always predictable and while we’re ready to go, we’re in a bit of a holding pattern until we get the official green light.

Here’s what has been happening 👇

The kitchen side has been fully operational and licensed on the other side of the building, running as our commissary and powering takeout / delivery. The ovens have been hot, the dough has been proofing, and we’ve been serving pies while prepping for the full vision.

We’re proud of that!

Now we’re just waiting on TI for the bar and ADA bathroom so we can push forward on completing the vision to bring the other half of this space to life the way we intended.

Through March, expect inconsistent hours as we prepare for final approvals and ramp up staffing.

👀 Soft open is targeted for the first week of April (date TBD) * pending final approvals * and trust us, we’re ready.

We’ve got the design, acquired the equipment, detailed out drink and expanded menu items...
Now we wait patiently for the final stage of approvals.

Appreciate everyone riding with us through the patience phase. Tavern vibes coming soon to SE Portlands Buckman neighborhood. 🍕🍺🔥
