Rwanda Bean Company We are passionate about people and coffee. We have developed relationships with farmers in Rwanda who cultivate the coffee we so proudly serve.

Pouring coffee, and pouring in to the communities we are grateful to be a part of - both in Rwanda and here. Rwanda Bean Company was established to generate sustainable profits for coffee farmers throughout Rwanda by directly linking them to the market. By seeking to reverse the historically exploitive supply chain, our primary goal is to return the maximum value back to the farms. We achieve this

by:

Purchasing beans at a fair price, and investing 50% of our net profits in community development projects - from providing school fees and health insurance, to generating clean electricity in rural villages.

To Our Valued Customers and Friends,

As we approach the end of 2024, we’re excited to share some significant updates with you!

After seven wonderful years serving the Deering Center community, we have been so honored to be a part of your lives... through the good days, the challenging moments, and even a pandemic. This neighborhood is truly a special place. This business has experienced some pretty significant changes over the last few years, and we are now shifting our focus to growing our wholesale and subscription program as we step away from retail operations. We are more excited than sad about this, as we have found an incredible new operator to take over the Stevens Avenue location.

This individual joined our team six months ago and has felt like family from day one. Many of you have already experienced her warmth and kindness, and we’re confident she will continue to make the coffee shop a beloved gathering place. She plans to continue serving our coffee, while also slowly introducing some exciting changes that we know you will love. This transition feels joyful and reassuring, knowing that we are leaving the shop in such capable hands. Our last day of operations will be 12/22/2024 so if you have loyalty points and/or gift cards to use, that will be the last day to do so.

In addition to this change, we are pleased to announce a new partnership with our coffee supplier in Rwanda that oversees the washing stations where the coffee is sourced from. This collaboration will deepen our connection to the coffee supply chain and enhance our ability to make a direct impact on the lives of the farmers we work with. We also look forward to expanding our offerings to include beans from other East African origins, giving you the chance to discover new favorites.

While we will miss our daily interactions with you, this shift allows us to focus on the wholesale and subscription aspects of our business, sharing our passion for quality coffee and social impact with a wider audience.

We are OPEN today until 12 pm, with cold brew, hot coffee and other beverageS + treats!

I will request if you come in today, please be kind to our incredible staff. They have no control over this and cannot fix it to make your latte. I only say this because of a few comments I heard this morning, and hate that I even feel like I have to say that.
