It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lisa Bonarrigo Bruni, founder of Portland Pottery, on October 8, 2026.

Lisa was the heart and soul of Portland Pottery. Her vision, passion, and love for ceramics inspired her to share the joy of creating with as many students as possible. Through her dedication to teaching and her belief in the power of creativity, she built more than a pottery studio—she created an extraordinary community where people could learn, grow, connect, and discover the joy of working with clay.

Lisa’s impact reaches far beyond the pieces created in the studio. Her warmth, generosity, and passion touched the lives of countless students, teachers, and friends who became part of the Portland Pottery family.

We will miss Lisa more than words can express. We are forever grateful for her vision, her dedication, and the beautiful community she brought to life. Her legacy will live on in every piece of pottery created, every student she inspired, and every connection made through the love of ceramics.

Thank you, Lisa, for sharing your passion with us and giving us a place to create, learn, and belong. You will always be a part of Portland Pottery.

With love and deepest gratitude,
The Portland Pottery Family
